Les Bijoux de la Kardashian (yes, this is a Tintin pun)

As the trial has finally started, Vanity Fair hired me to illustrate an article about the robbers who targeted Kim Kardashian during Paris fashion week in Autumn of 2016.

This assignment was particularly fun because it called for a little bit of everything: characters, setting, portrait, still life… and I’m always happy to have an excuse to draw pigeons.

Making Art From The Mundane

Sometimes, you don’t have to look too far for inspiration.

A collection of things I keep on my desk like good luck charms for no particular reason.

A Celebration of Spring

Inspired by the French idiom “to eat dandelions by the roots”, which is a very pretty way of saying “to be dead”.

Other Things I enjoyed in April

Taking my cat on a short holiday, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that my workouts aiming to prevent back pain & release stress have provided the perfect training to face the Métro’s endless corridors and stairs while carrying heavy stuff.

I got back into Geoguessr to let my mind travel and stumbled upon some wonderful things:

A primary school in New Zealand greeting its pupils the best possible way

In Romania, a couple of storks made me feel like I was in the opening scene of a horror film

I got dropped on a forest path in Malaysia (and no, I did not guess this one correctly)

Vintage coppers in Somerset, another vision of horror

As for actual horror films, I highly recommend watching Ryan Coogler’s Sinners if you haven’t already.

And that’s it for this month! Thanks for being here. If you think this newsletter would be of interest to somebody else, feel free to forward it to them.

Till next month, take care,

Cath
