The Paper Doll — an homage to Lenny Kravitz’s incredible sense of style.

I initially got the idea of making a paper doll of somebody completely different, but once Lenny Kravitz popped into my mind (How? We’ll never know), it was clear he was the better choice. The other one might still see the light of day at some point, but for now he’s been relegated to the “Later” drawer.

The ugliness of the sketch is proportional to the strength of my faith in my skills

The final artwork

Incredibly proud of this shirt pattern

I chose sunglasses and leather trousers as his naked starting point, as it seems he never takes them off, even at the gym

Please do not send any actual cheque to this address, it is not real

Mixing & matching is incredibly fun, even only digitally:

The Frog

The second still life from my “Things on my desk” series, featuring a old mechanical frog and the first flowers of the year from my windowsill.

The Music Police

Yes, this is real, and pretty much verbatim. Except, you know, it was in German.

Other Things I enjoyed in May

I attended a colloquium on Belgian Art Nouveau, and now I need to go to Brussels.

13 rue Royale, Brussels

A friend tricked me into visiting the Charles Worth exhibit at the Petit Palais. Turns out, there is more to him than evening gowns. I stand corrected — it was wonderful.

And that’s it for this month! Thanks for being here. If you think this newsletter would be of interest to somebody else, feel free to forward it to them.
