Happy New Year!

I hope you celebrated the end of 2024 and welcomed 2025 with the amount of food, alcohol, and enthusiasm you deem appropriate.

My favourite artwork of the month: White Rabbits

I finally drew this piece after having sketched it two years ago, which I’m afraid is not an exaggeration—I have drawers full of sketches, because my main way of procrastinating is to magically come up with ideas for other drawings and projects, so the piles of sketches get bigger and bigger, and I waste my time trying to choose what to prioritise instead of just doing the work.

This one finally made it to the top of the list, as I really felt the need to escape to a quiet place.

I love working on A2 paper, even though it is a little pesky to scan.

Prints available in various sizes here.

My 2024 Highlights

  • In January, I made mini comics that are now part of the Rare Book & Manuscript Library at Columbia. A huge thank you to Karen Green, Curator for Comics and Cartoons, for requesting them, as, on top of it being extremely flattering, I doubt I would’ve made those strips into tiny books otherwise.

  • In March, I drew artsy people for the French edition of Vanity Fair.

AD: Géraldine Richard

3. Elon Musk

17. Françoise Bettencourt-Meyers

50. Rupert Murdoch

  • In June, I let out my inner goth for the children’s science magazine, Science & Vie Junior. This also marked my cat’s first appearance in print.

AD: Bertrand Gamblin

  • In September, I got to draw my Oma for Bloomberg.com. She was the person who encouraged me to make art the most and I think she would’ve loved this.

AD: Josef Reyes

  • In October, I tried to get rid of my perfectionism by making one ink drawing a day using a random word as a prompt, which went more or less well. Next time, I’ll do it on A5 instead of A3.
